HYTTEBOK

A month-long residency in Bergen to explore the idea of working in a studio whilst being on residency in my hometown - a challenge invited by the Faculty of Art, Music and Design of the University of Bergen, and supported by KORO funding.

I transferred the contents of an old falling down typical Norwegian cabin from the 1960s to Rom 61 - a white cube space within the newish art school building. Taking these 210 items out of context I spent the time examining them in detail, recording the aspects of design, function, useage, repair, necessity, production methods and locations - turning things upside down and putting things on pedestals.
