Arts and Ecology School Residency, Bristol

Working with a class of primary school pupils in Bristol I developed and undertook a 35 day long residency with the aim to creatively combine arts, sustainability and ecology. Working with local scientists, campaigners and ecologists I devised a programme of workshops and activities that encouraged the children in positive ways to challenge and question the 'professionals' on issues of sustainability. Nearly 300 messages in bottles were sent in the post asking the question: "What do you do to help the environment? "to a variety of companies, organisations, The Queen, Tony Blair and local people. An exhibition was held at the school at the end of the project.

This was a pilot project run by the Royal Society of Arts, London and supported by John Pontin Charitable Trust and Creative Partnerships.
